What ist clearcoat?

Clearcoat is a, usually transparent lacquer, which is compound from binder and solvent usually only.
It serves often as coat, if the material which can be coated is to remain substantial (frequently for wood or metal) and the surface must be protected nevertheless against outside influences, with metal e.g. the oxidation and with wood many moisture effects.

Mainly in the producing industry clear lacquers gain ever more significance.
Because in place of simple single-finish coating you will find more and more metalic and pearleffect basis lacquers in use, which are covered with a shining or matte clear coat
